Cha Cha Cha - Hand to Hand

The Hand to Hand is a straight forward variation on the Basic Step. The timing and rhythm remains the same as the Basic Step but a 1/4 pivot is added after each chasse to allow you to step back with your outside leg ( the leg furthest from your partner as you pivot. ) This results in the step being danced along a line rather than having the forward and backward motions of the Basic Step.

The Hand to Hand can also be thought of as the reverse of a New York. In the New York you pivot your upper body and step through with your inside leg where as in the Hand to Hand you pivot your body in the opposite direction and step back with your outside leg.

All backward steps after each pivot should be done with the outside leg, that is the leg furthest away from your partner. When stepping backwards do not lift your front foot off of the ground.

Make sure that you hold both hands and remain facing your partner while doing the side chasse ( cha cha cha ) parts of the move. Only release the hand and pivot after the chasse.
